The first scientific monograph in the history of Russian philology dedicated to Henry Miller, the cult American writer, famous for his scandalous novels “Tropic of Cancer” and “Tropic of Capricorn”. The book attempts to refute popular myths about Miller, which paint him as a pornographer and a sexist, and to present him as an artist of life animated by deep intellectual pursuits. The subject of analysis in the work is the worldview of Henry Miller, considered in the context of philosophical theories of the 19th-20th centuries, as well as the novels of the “Parisian trilogy”: “Tropic of Cancer”, “Black Spring” and “Tropic of Capricorn”.
