The name of Dmitry Sergeevich Likhachev, one of the greatest scientists of the 20th century, is known throughout the world and has long become a symbol of scientific and spiritual enlightenment. His creative heritage is extremely extensive and varied, his research, articles and notes touched on various aspects of cultural history - from ancient Russian literature, to the study of which he made a huge contribution, to landscape gardening styles of the 18th-19th centuries. He was never indifferent to the events happening around him and said about himself: “All my life I have not remained an observer. I always needed to be a participant. Always interfered and got bumps. But if there were no cones, I would be more unhappy. And when I achieved it, I received joy.” The memoirs of “Thoughts on Life” are almost a chronicle of the 20th century, incorporating the most important milestones in the history of our country: childhood in St. Petersburg, youth in the camp on Solovki, the construction of the White Sea-Baltic Canal, the blockade of Leningrad, half a century of scientific work in the Pushkin House... In “Letters about good things”, articles and notes from different years D. S. Likhachev, going beyond the boundaries of “pure science”, reflects on topics that are important for every person: about the beauty of the world around him, about art, about the meaning of life, the historical past and cultural memory. D. S. Likhachev was characterized by the ability to speak clearly and simply about the most complex issues, which is why his books are in demand not only in a professional environment and are so loved by readers. The publishing layout of the book is preserved in PDF A4 format.
