In a sleepy industrial town, where summer heat and economic depression reign, a strange car accident occurs in broad daylight - a local nationalist guy flies off a bridge into the river at high speed. He was clearly escaping pursuit, but who was chasing him? Offended Serbian immigrants, neither the police nor the media doubt. However, there are no witnesses, except for a nameless boy and a local homeless man muttering that the river is actually a swimming bear that little boys should be wary of. And then single journalist Robert Bell, seeing that ends are not meeting and feeling unaccountable anxiety, takes on the investigation at his own peril and risk. He is the policeman's brother, but this only complicates matters: Robert is desperately in love with his wife.
