The story “Napoleon's Spy” tells about the military campaign of 1805, when Napoleon was in his prime and still had many victories ahead of him. The hero of the work, Karl Schulmeister, a German by birth, an intelligent, observant man, ready to make any sacrifice for the sake of the happiness of his family, turns out to be a spy who does not care who he serves. However, the selfless love of his wife helps him understand the depth of his fall, and he begins to serve the French army, getting into the most risky troubles.
The story “Napoleon's Son” by the same author is based on historical facts and tells about a time later nine years after the death of Napoleon, when his son was actually imprisoned by Chancellor Metternich, who really ruled all the affairs of the empire.
