The three great kingdoms - Bosporan, Cappadocian and Pontic - in the scientific world seem to be to varying degrees mysterious and poorly understood. The first of them was located in the Northern Black Sea region and was formed as a result of the unification of Greek cities on the Kerch and Taman peninsulas with the capital Panticapaeum, present-day Kerch. Pontus and Cappadocia - two states united by a common border - were located on the southern coast of the Black Sea and in the eastern part of Asia Minor north of the Taurus Mountains. The famous ruler of Pontus was one of the most dangerous opponents of Rome, Mithridates VI the Great. The next book in the series will introduce readers to many glorious pages of the three forgotten kingdoms.
