I don’t like to part ways. I invent people, cities, worlds, and they become family, I don’t want to leave them, to put an end to them. I look closely at my characters, at the world where they live, and build a plot. As if by themselves, the right words are found. The story comes to life, and it is already cramped on one or two pages, within the rigid framework of a short story. This is how other, long tales appear.
