“Down the Magic River” is a witty, funny story by E. Uspensky based on Russian fairy tales. An ordinary schoolboy Mitya comes to visit his grandmother in the village for the summer and ends up in the Far Far Away Kingdom. There are all the characters familiar from childhood: the Serpent Gorynych eats people, Baba Yaga can also eat, but mostly she welcomes the princes, feeds them, gives them water, puts them to bed. Koschey the Immortal, all made of iron, hung in the basement on chains for two hundred years. And then such an opportunity presented itself: King Makar was preparing to retire. So the “devoted” royal servants offered to take the throne to Koshchei. And a change of power is rarely peaceful. Illustrations by O. Ionaitis. For children under 3 years old. Publishing layout preserved
