Laura Darcy inherits an old house in the center of Paris. Relatives persuade the girl to sell this “old junk”. But the house and the wonderful garden fascinate young Laurie. There is something magical about them... She settles here and rents out the floor to Arthur Finley, a rich man and a rake, in order to earn money for the restoration of the house. From this moment on, the smooth flow of her life is replaced by a stormy stream of events, causing either laughter or tears... Laurie experiences the whole gamut of feelings: from anger to fiery passion. Noisy scandals are interspersed with scenes of love, tragic events are followed by a merry carnival...
