In the tenth year of family life, anxiety settled firmly in Basya’s soul. Vadim began to get irritated over trifles, angry with her, and come home late from work. Basya did not want to admit the obvious and justified her husband’s behavior with difficulties at the company. She loved her husband and Glebka, her stepson, who once, as a child, fell from the balcony straight into the arms of a young applicant from a provincial town.
