Raymond Queneau (1903–1976) is an outstanding French writer, poet, essayist, translator, screenwriter, winner of several prestigious literary awards, including the Black Humor Prize, participant in the surrealist movement, one of the creators of ULIPO, Transcendental Satrap of the Pataphysical College, and at the same time, a member of the Goncourt Academy, founder and director of the "Encyclopedia of the Pleiades", a famous polymath, as well as an artist and mathematician. We meet one of the main characters of the novel "Blue Flowers", the Duke d'Auge... every 175 years. Everything else in this work is just as unusual - from the semi-fantastic plot to the language, because, as always with Queneau, the words here easily change their meaning and begin to play with completely unexpected facets and colors. Paradoxical, entertaining and witty.
