Hiroyuki Agawa's book is a detailed story about a descendant of the ancient samurai family of Nagaoka, Yamamato Isoroku, who began his military career as a cadet in the Russo-Japanese War and ended it as commander-in-chief of the United Fleet. A naval attaché at the Japanese Embassy in Washington, Yamamato was opposed to war with the United States and participated in the London Conference on Naval Disarmament, but went down in history as the author of the famous attack on Pearl Harbor. The book tells about his military and government activities, as well as his private life. Taken from
