Mikhail Osipovich Gershenzon (1869–1925) is a historian of Russian literature and social thought of the 19th century, writer, philosopher, publicist, translator, tireless collector of the epistolary heritage of many figures of Russian culture, editor and publisher. The volume includes: “Historical Notes”, “Slavophilism”, “Dream and Thought of I.S. Turgenev", "Palmyra", "Man Possessed by God". Many of the hard-won thoughts of “Historical Notes” are striking in their topicality and correspond with the article “Slavophilism.” The publication is supplied with articles by V. Rozanov, G.V. Florovsky, L.I. Shestov, A. Bely, E. Gertsyk, B.K. Zaitseva, V.Yu. Proskurina about the place of Gershenzon in the history of Russian culture, comments and an index of names. The book is intended for a wide range of readers, as well as researchers, teachers and students.
