Romain Gary (1914–1980) is a famous French writer, Russian by birth, member of the Resistance, personal friend of Charles de Gaulle, and a major diplomat. Having written almost three dozen novels, Gary became famous as the creator of the most sensational and tragic literary hoax of the 20th century, reincarnating as Emile Azhar and thus becoming the only two-time winner of the Goncourt Prize.
Why do birds fly to Peru to die? Why can't a woman whose profile is perfect fall in love? And why do people - even the bravest ones - become covered with scales over time? There are no answers. But it’s important to at least ask questions...
The only collection of stories by Romain Gary is being published in Russian as a separate edition for the first time.
