The novel is a prophecy that came true. Created using the method of improvisation, in which the plot is built on the fly. The author had planned to create it for a long time (the name dates back to 1993), but for about 25 years he had not written a large form at all, and then, unexpectedly for himself, he started, because he realized: now or never. It began in the fall of 2011, completed in February 2012. And at the end of 2013, it began in reality! Imagine a world in which people’s dream of bodily immortality almost came true. Happiness has arrived! The gift of death changes the world. The barbarism and obscurantism of life is becoming a thing of the past. The triumph of necrocracy is coming. Who do the Immortals accept into Koshchei? Decent people - capable of paying for the expensive services of necromancers specially trained by the underground race. Of course, we are not talking about complete immortality, but about a long posthumous existence. That is why people who have been honored are called simply and unpretentiously - the dead. It is clear that even among the dead there is a freak. The Knight of the Order of the Messengers of Death, Chichero, despite the vaunted invulnerability of the dead, dies while tracking down the living enemy of the Lord of Death. However, the court necromancer of the dwarf leader Otshibina restores his posthumous existence on a new basis. Now the guarantee of Chichero’s existence is the efforts of three living dwarfs - Limn, Zung, Duldokravn, hidden under his cloak. From their leader, Chichero receives the task of traveling around the giant castles in the vicinity of the cave city of Tsants and collecting from the giants as many shadows of dead peasants as possible, through which they can influence the outcome of the necrocratic meeting being prepared in Tsants. Having completed the difficult task, Chichero and his dwarfs are faced with the betrayal of those who who gave this task, and with the destructive consequences of what they did, which prompts them to reconsider their attitude towards the gift of afterlife. Chichero is forced to self-determinate. Who is he with: with his dead rulers, or with the wicked rebels who dared to betray necrocratic ideals? The novel was awarded the Reader's Choice Award at the International Long Prose Competition "Trimmer-2012"
