The monograph examines the problems associated with the study of emotional intelligence - the totality of intellectual abilities for processing emotional information. The evolution of ideas about emotional intelligence is reflected. Its models are considered and characteristics of the components within the framework of the ability model are given. Gender differences in the field of emotional intelligence are analyzed. The problem of its relationship with other psychological phenomena and the problem of its predictive value are discussed.
