The novel by the famous Soviet prose writer, playwright, publicist Alexander Borisovich Chakovsky is a large-scale, multifaceted work dedicated to the events and consequences of the Second World War. It is based on the Potsdam Conference of the Victorious Heads of State in 1945. The author uses enormous documentary material, analyzes and summarizes diverse historical facts and creates portraits of famous political figures - Stalin, Churchill, Truman. The film of the same name was shot in 1984, directed by Evgeny Matveev, starring: Alexander Mikhailov, Andrei Mironov, Natalya Vavilova.
