However, women have also successfully mastered some purely military specialties. One of these is the profession of a sniper. At least two thousand young patriots, having voluntarily joined the ranks of the Red Army, graduated from sniper schools during different periods of our people’s struggle against the Nazi invaders. They became super-sharp marksmen, mercilessly destroying enemy soldiers and officers on all fronts of the Great Patriotic War, and received awards and honors. This book, based on documents and archival materials, some of which are published for the first time, tells about their exploits and destinies, which are a striking example of selfless service to the Fatherland.
