At noon on August 25, 1968, eight people went to Red Square to protest against the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. The protest had no practical meaning, the participants of the action ended up in prisons and mental hospitals, but the demonstration became a symbol of moral resistance to the totalitarian regime. The book by one of the participants in the demonstration, poet and translator Natalya Gorbanevskaya, is dedicated to the history and consequences of the most famous anti-Soviet protest. 2nd edition, expanded.
