The course of lectures “History of European Philosophy” by Archpriest Vladimir Mustafin, candidate of theology, professor of the department of theology at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, covers the time from the beginning of the so-called. “The Middle Ages” to the 18th century. In the “Modern Age” (XVII-XVIII centuries), the original philosophical systems of Descartes, Francis Bacon and Leibniz arose, which, however, in their main epistemological positions turned out to be a repetition of ancient philosophy. A truly new mental creativity in Western Europe was the modeling of the universal ontological reality in the form of a natural scientific picture of the world. But this picture of the world was also based on an ancient philosophical resource - mathematics, i.e. the same Platonic rationalism, only in its mathematical (u003d Pythagorean) version. It is recommended for teachers and students of theological educational institutions, theological faculties of secular universities, as well as everyone students of the history of philosophy. The publishing layout is saved in PDF A4 format.
