Revolutions are a type of social medicine. They cure society of long-standing ailments. And just as in the matter of healing, the matter of revolution cannot do without charlatans, including those who not only fool those around them, but are themselves sincerely convinced that they are dangerous for the old world and can create a new one. These are quasi-revolutionaries. Who they are, why they exist and how to distinguish them from real revolutionaries, says Alexander Tarasov, co-director of the Center for New Sociology and the Study of Practical Politics “Phoenix” in the book “The Revolution is Not Serious.” This is the first book in Russia specifically devoted to this topic. The book is addressed to sociologists, political scientists and cultural scientists, as well as all young-minded readers interested in politics and especially the revolutionary struggle.
