Eduard Andreevich Granstrem (1843–1918) - publisher, writer, translator; author of many books for young people. In particular, the adventure story “Elena-Robinson” was very loved by children and went through several reprints, as well as the famous “why book” for girls “Lyubochkina why and why.” His books “A Century of Discoveries in the Biographies of Remarkable Navigators and Conquerors of the 15th–16th Centuries” became widely known in Russia. (1893), “Along the polar margins of Russia” (1885). Granstrom was a wonderful translator. His most significant work in this area is the translation of the Finnish epic "Kalevala", as well as "The Tales of Professor Topelius". This volume publishes the novel "Two Heroes", which tells about Columbus's discovery of the New World, as well as about his cruel "heirs" - Spanish conquistadors, who wrote their names in the history of the Great Geographical Discoveries with fire and sword. One of these was Fernandez Cortes, who conquered Mexico and, for the sake of profit, ruined the ancient culture of the Incas.
