The novel by the famous Dutch poet and prose writer Seis Noteboom (b. 1933) may well be classified as a genre of poetic prose. The naive young man Philip embarks on a journey that takes place both in reality and in his imagination. He learns a lot, meets many people, meets love, but above all, he gets to know himself. And as always, Noteboom has a strong sensuality and a special sense of style in every phrase of the story. Says Noteboom was awarded the Anne Frank Foundation Prize for the novel “Philip and Others.”
