The book “Pasternak in Life” is the first attempt to look at the life and creative path of the great poet not through the eyes of one single biographer, who is always biased, but through the eyes of a variety of people: friends and ill-wishers, family members, regulars at home and full-time literary critics , Soviet functionaries, journalists, literary historians... This format of biography - voices from the choir - was proposed by V.V. Veresaev; his books “Pushkin in Life” and “Gogol in Life” became classics of this genre. They look at Pasternak, talk about him, his gift and human qualities are assessed by witnesses of his life - contemporaries. The role of evidence is played by fragments of memories and letters, newspaper articles, archival documents, as well as letters and works of the poet himself.
