Martin Heidegger (1889–1976) is a major German thinker, representative of the philosophy of existentialism. He was one of those who felt that a huge secret was hidden in the word “to be”. Having rejected all the specific meanings of this word, we find ourselves face to face with the riddle of existence. Heidegger devoted his entire life to the search for the “meaning of being,” in which, in addition to bright insights, there were also misconceptions that arose under the influence of false ideas about the superiority of the German nation, widespread in the 30s of the twentieth century. But, despite everything, Heidegger's works became a significant contribution to the development of philosophy, theology, aesthetics and other humanities.
