According to legends, during Christmas time God, rejoicing at the Birth of the Son, releases the dead and all the devils into freedom. Hordes of the dead walk through cemeteries and villages, the unclean from the depths of hell fly to earth, witches steal the month and the stars. Wolves, devils, witches, vampires and evil spirits haunt people all the time from Christmas to Epiphany. In Bulgaria there is a good image for Christmastide - the earth is like a sieve. This image of the earth-sieve, from each cell of which demons and the dead come out on Christmastide, was necessary to be revealed to the participants of the collection in the format of a Yuletide story. The presented story took first place in the Christmas story competition and opens the collection.
