There were no men in Aircraft Unit No. 122, created by the legendary Soviet pilot Marina Raskova. All its warriors - pilots, navigators, technicians - yesterday's students, workers of factories and factories, students of flying clubs stood in formation and walked the long road of war until the day of the Great Victory. Researcher Lyubov Vinogradova worked in archives, studied the memoirs of eyewitnesses, met with participants in the events and members of their families. The result of this painstaking work was a unique historical and documentary book, which tells in detail, with love and bitterness, about amazing girls, the main event in whose lives was the war. Many of the book's heroines had short and tragic fates. They gave their lives for the Motherland, which they loved and managed to save.
