In 1950–1970 we had the strongest intelligence service in the entire history of the Soviet, and, perhaps, the Russian state. Especially if we talk about intelligence, which worked under the roof of military diplomacy. During this period, the main achievements of intelligence fell - helping our scientists find the secrets of nuclear weapons, infiltrating NATO headquarters, obtaining recipes for solid fuel for our missiles, etc. Much information was obtained with the help of military, air force and naval attaches , who walked the roads of the Great Patriotic War and went to a new war, called the Cold War. Other intelligence officers worked “under the roof” of the trade mission, some of Intourist, some of Aeroflot, but they were all engaged in one thing - reconnaissance. One of the intelligence officers told the author: “We did not freeze in the Cold War. The work was too hot." These words became the key to the title of Mikhail Boltunov’s new book.
