A mysterious man in black hands our hero, a young Moscow journalist, a huge sum of money, supposedly from an unknown American uncle. The uncle demands that his nephew immediately go on a two-year trip around the world, which the latter does with great willingness. After returning from the trip, the nephew learns that he has the amazing gift of sensing sequences - a sequence of ordinary events that cause real miracles. The young man's life, cloudless to the point of boredom, is filled with new meaning - a rich heir with a wonderful gift feels himself omnipotent. It soon becomes clear that not everyone likes miracles. A girl from a sect that fights sequences is ready to do anything to stop their use. Our hero has a death sentence signed, but he has powerful friends... A naive and win-win plot quickly develops into incredible intrigue. The reader not only has no idea what awaits him around the next turn, but the very existence of the turn becomes a surprise every time - it just seemed that the course of events was on the right track, when suddenly the storyline takes a sharp turn, and an uncontrollable whirlwind of events carries us forward into the unknown. The novel ends suddenly. The main storyline ends much faster than expected with the expected victory of good over evil. Only now do you remember with surprise that during the course of the story, good and evil managed to change places several times. Is this victory final? Of course not. The Sequentorium series consists of five books, and Foundation is only the first of them.
