The famous English psychologist, one of the leaders of the biological trend in psychology, the creator of one of the factor theories of personality, Hans Jurgen Eysenck, has written more than 45 books and 600 scientific publications. Unfortunately, until recently in Russia, Eysenck’s works were known only to a narrow circle of professionals.
This publication presents the following works: “Psychology: benefits and harm”, “Psychology: meaning and nonsense”, “Psychology: facts and fiction”, in which the author introduces the reader to a wide range of problems in psychology and possible ways to solve them, explores approaches to creating a psychological model of personality based on two orthogonal continuums: extraversion - introversion, neuroticism - stability; the basic principles of testing human mental abilities (IQ) are outlined, and the methodology for constructing questionnaires, including the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPO), is described.
