The book by Evgenia Basova, which includes three stories, is about teenagers, about their parents, about finding oneself and about love. Kostya, the hero of the story “Open Windows,” “was pulled into the computer up to his boots,” as his mother says . Kostya plays online games. He also communicates with virtual friends: Rhett from Australia and Li Jin from China. And then Makar appeared, he is from Lipovka - this is next to Kuvakin, where Kostya went to camp in the summer. Makar knows how to find interesting sites: for example, where you can observe the life of astronauts on an orbital station. And when mom goes to Lipovka for work for a few days and decides to take the children with her, Kostya and his sister Lena rejoice at the opportunity to meet Makar in reality. But will they succeed? “The Dance of the Sirocco Wind” is a story about love. “Katya, I love you,” it’s written on the utility booth—the one with the shovels and brooms. Some kind of special paint, the letters glow. They are crooked, with different slopes, and the entire line slides down, towards the ground. And where the letters are still high up, under “Katya”, it is written – “from 7B”. The seventh "B" on this side has windows facing mathematics, physics and English. And everyone just needs to look out the window again, make sure that the letters are still there. And the three Katyas in the class are at a loss as to which of them this note is addressed to. And most importantly, by whom? Valya, the heroine of the story “Those Leaving and Staying,” is ready to help anyone and everyone, be it a lost kitten, a restless homeless person, or wealthy neighbors who are not very happy in their material wealth. But Valya is worried not by the lack of money in the family, but by the lack of understanding of those around her. She dreams of growing up quickly and taking her mother and brother away from their small town. Evgenia Basova is a member of the Union of Chuvash Writers, a laureate of the National Children's Literary Award “Treasured Dream” and the International Competition of Children's and Youth Literature named after A.
