The book is the first modern edition of the works of the “futurist of life” Vladimir Goltsshmidt (1891?-1957), poet, agitator, bodybuilder and one of the founders of the genre of artistic performance. Founder of the Moscow “Cafe of Poets” and creator of a monument to himself, adventurer and yogi , who broke boards on his own head during speeches, Holtzschmidt remained a legendary figure in the history of Russian futurism. This publication fully reproduces the only and rare book of Holtzschmidt’s poems and manifestos, “Vladimir’s Messages to Life from the Path to Truth,” published in Kamchatka in 1919, and a collection of memoirs and critical articles about this underrated figure of the Russian avant-garde is also published.
