Archaeoastronomy - a new direction interdisciplinary study of antiquity. The work presents for the first time the results of an archaeoastronomical study of kurgan monuments of the Southern Trans-Urals of the Bronze Age and the Early Middle Ages. The nature and level of development of astronomical knowledge in ancient eras, their role in the funeral cult, and the possibility of reconstructing calendar systems are explored. The work is addressed to astronomers, archaeologists, and specialists in ancient history
