Conrad Celtis (1459-1508) was a famous humanist poet of the German Renaissance who wrote in Latin. In his collection of poems, he set himself the goal of giving examples of all genres of classical lyric poetry: he wrote 4 books of “Odes”, 2 hymns, a book of “Epodes”, 4 books of love “Elegies”, 5 books of “Epigrams” for various occasions and the beginning of a descriptive poem “Complete Germany.” All these works appear in Russian for the first time, revealing to the reader a great master of verse and cultural figure.
