Vladimir Solovyov is one of the most important figures in Russian culture, a brilliant and versatile personality who had a huge influence on a whole generation of thinkers, writers and poets of the Silver Age. In aesthetics, Solovyov developed the idea of active art, which, by resurrecting images of the past, resurrects in a person his most genuine love. No matter how diverse the subjects that Soloviev dealt with were, they had one thing in common: the experience of thought as a living being. A thought for him is that depth in ourselves that we are not aware of, just as we are not aware of our love until we fall in love. This publication presents the main works of Vladimir Solovyov, dedicated to beauty, art and the artist’s mission in the world.
