The young historian Saul Adler is going to the GDR. Shortly before leaving, he is nearly hit by a car at an Abbey Road pedestrian crossing. Without attaching any importance to this, he rushes to meet his girlfriend to recreate the famous Beatles cover photo, but the failed accident sets off a chain of events that, at first glance, are difficult to explain - they seem to contradict each other and occur at the wrong time.
