Returning home, Sally hears a familiar name on the news. Mark Bretherick's wife and daughter died tragically. But the man from the TV news is not the Mark Bretherick Sally knows. And a moment later, Sally is in for a new shock: she realizes that she is incredibly similar to the deceased wife of the fake Mark. And the story itself really finishes her off - it turns out that Geraldine Bretherick not only died, but killed her little daughter, after which she committed suicide. So begins Sophie Hannah's new detective story. After reading it, one cannot but agree: the writer’s claims to the detective throne become more serious with each novel.
