Grigory Dzhanshiev was one of the first to begin studying the history of judicial reform and, in general, the transformations of the sixties. He devoted several large monographs to various aspects of this era and wrote a number of biographical sketches about outstanding figures of peasant and judicial reform. He collected his articles in the book “From the Era of Great Reforms,” which was prepared and published for the 30th anniversary of the Great Reforms (1891). Then, over the course of 16 years, the book went through ten editions, which brilliantly illustrates its popularity and significance. “Epoch” Great Reforms” was published in 1892 and has since gone through a number of editions, which were gradually supplemented during the author’s lifetime. This book was very popular not only among prominent judges, lawyers and prominent Russian figures, but also among the foreign public and among the general public. The publication played a serious social and educational role as the only history of the reforms of the reign of Alexander II. The ninth edition, published in 1905, was one of the most expanded and revised, and it also became the first publication of the Literary Fund.
