In 1846, Edward Lear published “The Book of Nonsense,” which consisted of humorous poems that were written according to the same template and later became known as “limericks.” The limerick genre still has numerous fans and imitators to this day. The main thing in limerick is deliberate stupidity and absurdity, condensed to such an extent that grains of humor are formed from them. Limericks often go beyond the boundaries of good taste and decency. What can you do, that’s the genre; as they say, if you don’t like it, don’t read it. This collection contains the author’s limericks, originally written in Russian.
