The Shontin and K'da civilization, which is a symbiosis of reptiles and human-like creatures, is forced to leave their world under the blows of the ruthless and powerful Valagua. As they approach Iota Klestis, the planet chosen by the symbionts as a result of a deal, an unknown enemy destroys the scout ships sent ahead. Only the warrior-poet Draycos remains alive.
