The collection "Victims of the Dragon" continues the series "At the Dawn of Time", conceived as a kind of anthology of works about the distant past of mankind. The fourth volume includes S. Pokrovsky's stories "Mammoth Hunters", "Village on the Lake", A Linevsky's "Sheets of a Stone Book", as well as V. Tan-Bogoraz's story "Victims of the Dragon", which has not been published since the 20s, largely determined the development of this genre in Russian literature.
