“The Gospel Story” is the most famous work of Pavel Alekseevich Matveevsky (1828–1900) - a spiritual writer, archpriest, master of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy. The first edition was published in 1890. The book consistently describes the earthly life of Jesus Christ. interpretations of P.A. Matveevsky are taken mainly from the works of the Holy Fathers of the Church. The work is of great interest from the point of view of the completeness of the presentation of the dogmatic teaching about Christ and the rich material of sacred texts collected in it. The third book includes the final events of the Gospel history.
