The publication talks about political organizations whose activities have left a significant mark on the history of mankind - the Inquisition, the mafia, the Ku Klux Klan. Created at the beginning of the 13th century, the Inquisition changed the course of human society. Throughout Europe, thousands of trials took place for half a millennium, from which tens of thousands of dissident people died, trying to simply explain what was happening. Secret organizations have almost always existed in Italy. The work tells about the Carbonari, the Camorra and the mafia, whose structure and hierarchy were copied by the mafias of many countries around the world. For a long time, the Ku Klux Klan, a racist organization, operated in the United States of America. In the fight against this order, American democracy had to strain all its strength and win. The last part of the work talks about the political police of the Russian Empire. The separate corps of gendarmes and the Security Department of the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia knew almost everything about the activities of revolutionaries and terrorists in the state, but everything was useless. The Russian Empire was rushing at full speed towards its collapse and the civil war of 1918–1921.
