The book by Moscow and Samara authors - specialists in the history of military operations at sea during the time of the sailing fleet - tells about one of the little-known pages of the struggle for military supremacy at sea for the general reader. The actions of the French fleet, on the one hand, and the combined forces of the fleets of England, Holland and Spain, on the other, are described during the events of the so-called War of the League of Augsburg. Information is presented in detail about the most important naval battles of the era of the sailing fleet, about the role of the policies of the leading European powers in the development of tactics and strategy of the navy, about the largest naval commanders of France, Holland and England at the end of the 17th century. The book is equipped with diagrams of major battles and lists of complete fleets and squadrons of the warring parties in each of the described battles. The Appendix contains documents (reports and pages from parliamentary reports) and sketches of episodes of corsair actions in the seas of Europe and the Atlantic Ocean.

The book is addressed to all specialists and lovers of the history of the military sailing fleet.
