Book “Goal-3. Necessary, but not sufficient" in the form of a business novel, fascinatingly describes the solution to one of the classic problems of modern business - how to ensure that the huge investments of finance, time and personnel work in the implementation of modern IT systems bring tangible results in terms of key business indicators. Introduction of new technologies based on data management, is perceived by business as a necessary condition for successful development. However, only a small percentage of companies receive the expected increase in earnings from the implementation of modern IT systems. According to the authors, the reason for this phenomenon is that the transition to updated IT systems is not accompanied by the necessary changes in internal rules and policies. The authors of the book, Dr. Goldratt and his colleagues, describe in the form of a fictional novel the logic of changes in internal processes sufficient for improved management of information flows to begin to generate greater profits.
