The memory of our family and friends is always dear to us, especially we celebrate their anniversaries. As for the mentors of the spirit, this is an occasion to once again remember their lives, exploits, thoughts, advice, and edifications. So it is now, when it is 50 years since the death of Hegumen Nikon (Vorobyov), a modest, little-known parish priest in the hard times of believers, but “the last of the Mohicans” of the Orthodox faith, who preserved and passed on to us the most important thing in Christianity - the patristic heritage of the spiritual life. The significance of such people for subsequent generations in the Church is invaluable. Hegumen Nikon, having overcome the long and difficult path of searching for the Truth, its deeply dramatic acquisition, the anti-Christian repressions of the Stalinist regime, and the subsequent severe persecution of the Church, not only preserved and increased the acquired talent of faith with his ascetic life, but also lovingly shared it in his conversations and letters , sermons with all those who have sought and are seeking this precious Pearl (see: Matt. 13: 45–46). The proposed book represents selected thoughts of Abbot Nikon about faith and life in Orthodoxy.
