“There is a lot of unknown, mysterious and even tragic in the history of the Kremlin hospital,” writes doctor Praskovya Moshentseva in her book, who worked for more than thirty years in the hospital where the top leaders of the USSR, as well as famous commanders, writers, and artists, were treated.Praskovya Moshentseva, in particular, had to treat Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Gromyko; its patients were marshals Zhukov, Rokossovsky, Vasilevsky, composer Shostakovich, singers Lemeshev and Reisen, writers Sholokhov and Tvardovsky, numerous “Kremlin wives and daughters.” In this hospital, medical reports were prepared on the illness and causes of death of all Soviet leaders and major cultural figures. The author of the book lifts the veil of secrecy over how this was done and what was hidden behind the lines of official medical documents.
