Louis-Ferdinand Céline (1894–1961) is a classic of French literature of the 20th century, with a controversial reputation [1] as a collaborationist, cynic, anarchist and misanthrope. A passionate admirer of Selin, Henry Miller, wrote about him: “an amazing author, and I don’t care whether he is a fascist, a democrat or a sewer man, the main thing is that he can write.”
Celin’s note was published in Russian in the magazine “ Foreign Literature", 2001, No. 9.
