“Fighters of Dunveit” is the third novel by Mikhail Akhmanov in the “Comes from the Darkness” series. The long wars between earthlings and the Faata, humanoids from another branch of the Galaxy, have died down, but times of peace have not come. Commander Sergei Valdez, like many thousands of veterans, completed his service in the Earth's space fleet. Now he faces the fate of a mercenary of the mysterious Loon Eo, immensely wise and rich Masters, who, however, are unable to protect their worlds from their bloodthirsty neighbors. He is a member of the Dunveith Patrol, a border world and military base that protects the master's peace.
