1921. Not yet on their feet, the fragile young taiga commune extends a hand of help and friendship to the Khanty, who are oppressed and robbed by the merchant Porfiry Isaev. In this struggle, the chairman of the commune, Bolshevik partisan Roman Bastrykov, dies. His father is replaced by his son Aleshka, raised by the old Bolshevik Tikhon Ivanovich Skobeev. Having become a Komsomol member, Alyoshka continues his father’s struggle for the reconstruction of a huge country. The story “Eagles over Khingan” tells about the military service of soldiers from the Far East and Transbaikal during the Great Patriotic War.
