The Far Future (2199 AD), the next World War between the West and the East has just recently ended... The main character is space pilot German Levanevsky - a former military officer and war hero, at first exalted, and then for his obstinacy and complex character demoted from lieutenant colonel to lieutenant and even sent to hard labor, he just can’t find himself in peaceful life. In addition, as a result of an accident (a missing scientific expedition), he loses his beloved and finds himself on the verge of suicide. A “maximalist” by nature, Levanevsky begins to openly seek his death in risky adventures and deliberately dooms himself to all sorts of troubles... But... that’s not the case! Nature itself, in the form of a world without space and time - the Transfersphere, intervenes in the course of events and radically breaks not only Levanevsky’s naive ideas about his “only possible” future, but also the insidious plans of the League of Nations officials who sent him to his certain death.
